Chicago Headline Club Foundation

The Chicago Headline Club Foundation, a charitable organization created by the local professional chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists, annually offers two $3,000 intern grants for journalism students doing unpaid internships in the Chicago area.

These are available to college students who have secured unpaid internships of 21 or more hours a week in professional newsroom in the Chicago area. Candidates will be chosen by a rotating group of not-for-profit news organizations. The Headline Club Foundation will award the next grants to WBEZ and The Chicago Reporter.

Each grant provides $3,000 to defray the living expenses of a collegiate journalist during his or her unpaid internship.

• Student must intern with a Chicago-area media organization (print, broadcast or online).
• Applicant must be a current college student (no recent graduates).
• Internship must be at least 21 hours a week for at least 8 weeks
• Internship must be unpaid and student must be able to verify internship.

Neither the Chicago Headline Club nor the Chicago Headline Club Foundation is responsible for placing students in internships.
